The Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky, is looking for seasonal workers for our Horticulture and Native Plant Teams.Duties will consist of caring for and maintaining various woody and herbaceous plants within The Arboretum using sound and sustainable horticulture practices. This includes soil preparation, planting, watering, fertilizing, bed renovation, mulching, propagating, pruning, staking, transplanting, weeding and mowing.

Grounds Workers will work under either the supervision of the Senior Horticulturist or the Native Plants Collection Manager and will work with volunteers, interns and students.

Landscape Architecture Walk Across Kentucky Native Plants Internship

The WAKY Native Plants Intern will work with the Curator and Native Plants Collection Manager to maintain and develop the various represented Kentucky ecoregions, including oak-ash savannah, tallgrass prairies, and wetlands. Focus will also be placed on restoration ecology in the Arboretum Woods, a 15 acre woodland representing one of the last forest remnants of the inner bluegrass. Interns will have the opportunity to create an intern project based on their interests and the needs of The Arboretum.
