Kentucky Children's Garden Field Trips

Grades: K-2

Cost: $3 per person (including children and adults)

Time: 2 hours (Wednesdays from 10am-12pm during the spring and fall when the Kentucky Children's Garden is not open to the public)

Group Size: 50-115

Rotate through fun and educational stations throughout the Kentucky Children's Garden. Trees and Carbon Storage Field Trip

Grades: 6-12

Cost: $3 per person (including children and adults)

Time: 2 hours 

Group Size: 15-50

During this field trip, students will visit The Arboretum to learn how trees can help
reduce the effects of climate change. They will tour the grounds to learn about
plant conservation and ecosystem services as well as use professional forestry tools to
measure the amount of carbon stored by the trees at The Arboretum. To register, contact us using the information at the bottom of this page. 

Invasive Species Field Trip

Grades: 6-12

Cost: $3 per person (including children and adults)

Time: 2 hours 

Group Size: 15-50

During this field trip, students will visit The Arboretum to learn about invasive species. Students will learn about common characteristics of invasive species, go on a tour of The Arboretum Woods to learn about Winter Creeper, a major management issue in our region. Students will take action by completing a service learning project to help remove some Winter Creeper from some trees in the woods. To register, contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.
