Birthday Parties and Events in the Kentucky Children's Garden

The Kentucky Children’s Garden (KCG) is available for your Birthday Party or Special Event! Birthday Parties and Special Events require pre-registration and a non-refundable deposit.

Birthday party and special event packages in the KCG include:

  • Private access to the KCG during regularly closed hours for a 2-hour period: Sundays 11a-1p, Sundays 5-7p

  • Admission to the KCG for children and adults for a 2-hour period (Note: one adult is required per three children)

  • A Kentucky Children’s Garden T-shirt

  • Supervised activity for children to make and take home

  • Access to a large folding table, four child-sized picnic tables and adult-sized folding chairs

  • Experiential play in the KCG

A. Birthday Party Package Price:

  • $300.00

  • Holders of a KCG Season Pass discounted price: $275.00

  • Package includes admission for 30 guests (children or adults); each additional guest is $5.00

  • $50 non-refundable deposit required to reserve a specific date and time

B. Special Event Package Price:

  • $375.00

  • Holders of a KCG Season Pass discounted price: $350.00

  • Package includes admission for 40 guests (children or adults); each additional guest is $5.00

  • $75 non-refundable deposit required to reserve a specific date and time

A Birthday Party or Special Event Package includes an activity for children. Two Arboretum staff members will be present in the KCG during the activity. Choose one of the following activities:

A. Choo! Choo! (suitable for ages 2-5)

  • Children make a train engine out of repurposed materials. We will uncover the entire garden during a walk to look for the model train. Note: Our facility has a SMALL model train. It is not large enough to ride or touch.

B. Fossil Fun (suitable for all ages)

  • Children create a fossil to take home and explore the KCG fossil collection. They will go on a hunt to find fossils in the KCG.

C. Garden Explorers (suitable for ages 4+)

  • Children go on a scavenger hunt in the KCG and look for bugs, plants, and more! Afterwards children will decorate a pot and plant a seed to take home with them.

D. Gone Fishin’ (suitable for all ages)

  • Children decorate a fishing hat to take home and go “fishing” by the pond area by using cane poles and nets. They will go on a walk around the pond to learn about and look for pond life.
