At the KCG, we love to have organized groups visit! We offer a limited number of K-2 field trips during the Spring and Fall for groups over 50. Any organized group smaller than 50 is what we call a “Small Group”. This could include homeschools, birthday parties, summer camps, and more. Small Groups are welcome to visit the Kentucky Children’s Garden during normal hours of operation, Wednesday through Saturday. Groups are limited to 50 total people during spring and fall and limited to 30 total people during the summer (exact cutoff dates are located on website).

All groups must submit a Small Group Request Form to reserve a date for their visit. The request form will be reviewed by the Education Coordinator and an email will be sent regarding the approval of the visit. We are unable to accommodate small groups during events or more than one small group at a time. Admission cost is the same for groups as individuals, $4 per person ages 2 and above. Wristbands must be purchased on the day of your visit at the Dorotha Oatts Visitor Center.

Please keep the following in mind:

• Children (anyone under age 18) must always be accompanied by an adult. This means that each child should have an adult actively watching them during their visit. We request a minimum of a 6:1 child to chaperone ratio for organized groups to ensure the safety of everyone in the garden. 
• Shoes are always required, even in our water features. We recommend bringing shoes that can get dirty and wet.
• A small group visit is self-guided, meaning that there will be no organized stations or staff available to personally accommodate your visit.
• The KCG is subject to closure for inclement weather. Check the weather forecast and our website and social media to determine if we are open. We are a completely outdoor space, so there is no alternative indoor space available. We will do our best to reschedule, but we cannot guarantee.
